Dr. Halprashanth D.S is a Consultant Neurologist with illustrious record in the field of Neurology. He holds D.M. (Neurology) from Kasturba Medical College (Manipal University), Manipal, Karnataka, India (2008- 2011), and obtained his post-graduation in M.D (General Medicine) from Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore, Karnataka, India (2005- 2008) and M.B.B.S. from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, Karnataka, India (1999- 2005).

Dr. Halprashanth worked as Consultant Neurologist SSM Multispecialty Hospital, Hassan, Karnataka (2011-2012). Later in 2012 he joined as a Consultant Neurologist in the Department of Neurology at Gleneagles Global Health City, Chennai.

Dr Halprashanth sub-specializes Stroke Neurology alongside his General Neurology practice. He headed the comprehensive stroke team at Gleneagles Global health city. Under his leadership more than 1000 acute ischemic strokes have been treated and 15% of them were thrombolysed. This vast experience in stroke management has made him one of the leading stroke neurologists in India.

His team has one of the fastest doors to needle time records (14 Min) during stroke thrombolysis, which is comparable world’s Best stroke center’s timing. Dr. Halprashanth is also the founder of the First Stroke support group of Tamil Nadu- India, which provides comprehensive stroke care for the stroke survivor. This support group has placed many stroke survivors right back into the society and made them get their livelihood back.

He also specializes in Parkinson’s disease and Multiple sclerosis. He has managed a spectrum of patients with Parkinson’s disease and has also launched the Parkinson’s patient support group. He has headed the team for Deep brain stimulation and has a successful record in managing patients with refractory Parkinson’s disease with DBS.

He was one of the principle investigator in the ATTEND trial family led rehabilitation after stroke in India. He has numerous publications in International journals including prestigious medical journal Lancet. His other areas of interest are Headache, Epilepsy, Dementia and Neuromuscular Disorders.

He is also a member of World Stroke Organization, American Academy of Neurology, International movement disorder society and Indian Academy of Neurology.
