Dr. Husam Saleh completed his MBBCh from the prestigious Faculty of Medicine in Medical University, Sofia, Bulgaria in 1996. He started working as a Resident Neurosurgeon in Neurosurgery Department at The Military Medical Academy, Sofia b/w 1998 – 2000.

He completed his residency programme in the Clinical Centre of Neurosurgery at Medical University of Sofia, Bulgaria under the supervision of two of the pioneers of Neurosurgery in Bulgaria, Prof. Dr. K. Romansky and Prof. Dr. V. Bussarsky. He obtained a Certificate of Excellence degree in 2003 from the Bulgarian National Board of Neurosurgery (M. D in Neurosurgery).

From 2004 to 2012, he was with the Neurosurgery National Centre in The State of Kuwait, Ibn Sina Hospital. During this period, he practised in the sub-specialties of neurovascular, skull base and management of spasticity with Baclofen pump under supervision of one of the top pioneers in Neurosurgery – The head of prestigious All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), New Delhi, India – Prof. Dr. B.S. Sharma, former president of The Skull Base Surgery Society of India (SBSSI).

Dr. Saleh’s most recent assignment was with the Neurosurgery Department at Mafraq Hospital, a leading trauma and surgery quaternary care hospital, with a qualified Neuro-trauma and Neuro-spine team. Dr. Saleh has published articles in various international journals and has also presented papers at national and international conferences. He holds membership of several prestigious professional bodies including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), World Federation of Neurosurgical societies (WFNS) and holds a current license to practice with the General medical Council, UK. His main interests are neck pain, back pain, sciatica, spasticity, brain tumors and hydrocephalus.
