Dr. Indira Bairy is a Specialist in Microbiology at the RAK Hospital UAE.
Dr. Indira Bairy earned her MBBS in 1986 from Medical College Bellary, Gulbarga University, India. She then obtained her MD Microbiology in 1990 from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore University, India.
She has been working at various levels from lecturer to professor and served as Head of Laboratory from 1990 to 2020 in Kasturba Medical College, Melaka Manipal Medical College, and in Asian Institute of Medicine, Science & Technology, Kedah, Malaysia.
During this period she has gained vast experience in serological diagnosis of viral diseases mainly HIV and Hepatitis panel, stool examination, Immunology and staining for parasites, diagnosis of bacterial diseases like Typhoid fever, Leptospirosis, Brucellosis, Rickettsial diseases and Venereal diseases, PCR and Real Time PCR for diagnosis of various infectious disease like Tuberculosis.
Dr. Bairy has attended a total of 34 workshops/trainings, and 83 conferences both national and international. Additionally, she has published numerous researches and publications in various national and international journals. Before joining RAK Hospital she has worked in the Diagnostic Microbiology Laboratory attached to Kasturba Hospital in Karnataka, India and she has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students namely MBBS and MD Microbiology.
