Abuja to Berlin

An Oil and Gas company, who are our partners contacted us for air ambulance. A member of staff who is quadriplegic and needed rehabilitation in Europe. They had no hospital in mind and also wanted to take him abroad at a lower cost. We contacted one of the best in the world , a rehabilitation hospital in Berlin Germany. Since the partner wanted to keep cost to a minimum, we arranged for a stretcher via a commercial flight rather than the private air ambulance. We made all arrangements with the airline. Our medical team, wife and patient departed Abuja, Nigeria on the 6th of June 2018 by 1.00am and arrived in Berlin, Germany same day. All arrangements were made as the ground ambulance received the patient and our medical team handed the patient to the doctors at the Hospital. After three months of rehabilitation, the couple returned to Nigeria.

Port Harcourt to London

On the morning of 26th Jan 2020, our Country Manager of Nigeria received a phone call from one of our partner hospitals in Port Harcourt. They wanted to transport one of their VIP patients who needed urgent medicare, to London. The patient and his wife had an American passport hence visa was not an issue. However, they had approached other air ambulances, and they had not been able to mobilise an aircraft to go on a weekend. Besides they were confused about the choice of hospital in London and getting a ground ambulance to pick patient from Stansted Airport London. All these were complicated for client as it was on a weekend.

Anavara was almost the last air ambulance facilitators they approached, with very little hope. On receiving the call, our Country manager called our CEO to help on locating hospital and arranging for air ambulance to receive the patient in the airport. Our CEO immediately contacted a few hospitals in London with whom Anavara has an agreement. One of our partner hospital based out of Wimbledon, London agreed to support and receive the patient on weekend. The patient was stabilized, and the flight took off from Port Harcourt around 2pm on 27th Jan. It went to Abuja to get exit stamp from the immigration authorities. From there the aircraft left to London. It landed in Stansted airport on the same day by 11pm. Like clockwork precision, an ambulance was waiting at the airport tarmac to receive the patient, and whisked away to the hospital. He was immediately put into ICU and provided the necessary treatment.
